KMOC Seminar: Self-Defense in Social Settings with Ron Rotem

Krav Maga of Orange County is excited to have Ron Rotem, Lead Instructor of Traditional Krav Maga (TKM) Association in Israel, conduct a "Self-defense in Social Settings" seminar at our Irvine location on Saturday, February 8th, from 10:00am - 2:00pm.

This seminar will address self-defense tactics involving various scenarios in social settings like bars, clubs, concerts and other venues where people gather. These settings can be crowded, close-quarters, low light and the scenarios can be as simple as protecting your personal space to dealing with edged weapons in close.  Participants will learn how to defend against various types of threats and attacks in these situations.

Other topics to be covered:

• Situational awareness
• Self-defense in low light environment 
• Close-quarters self-defense with/without weapons
• Addressing verbal confrontation and harassment
• Common objects for defense
• Takeovers and anti-takeovers

This reality-based training will address real-life attacks and scenarios taken from actual events occurring in our communities.

Ron Rotem is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga and has studied Krav Maga for 20 years. He is a lead instructor at Traditional Krav Maga (TKM) in Israel. His Krav Maga experience includes the following:

• Former head of the Krav Maga department in the Israeli Defense Forces. 
• Served as the head instructor for self defense at the Israeli Prison Service. 
• In his mandatory service in the I.D.F served as a shooting and Krav Maga instructor for a special infantry unit - Sayert Egoz.
• Training in Krav Maga since 1996. Wingate certified Krav Maga instructor since 1999. Wingate certified martial arts trainer since 2009. Served as security personnel in a variety of national organizations. 5th degree Black Belt in Krav Maga 1st dan Black Belt in Japanese Ju Jitsu.
